I work with businesses of all shapes and sizes; from start-ups and entrepreneurs through to PLCs. I help businesses manage legal risk in their commercial trading arrangements, as well as devising legal strategies to monetise and protect their intellectual property.
Intellectual property is at the heart of almost every business, whether it be tech start-ups, healthcare services or creative industries, so I’ve worked across many sectors. I’ve even helped a monk with his first publishing contract.
I might be supporting an overseas client registering their first trademark in the UK one day, to managing a local fashion house’s global trademark and design portfolio the next. I enjoy watching the development of new technologies.
Having spent time as Head of Legal at a UK software technology company, I know first-hand how important it is to deliver advice which can be easily understood and implemented. I enjoy getting under the skin of the businesses I advise, so I can deliver a legal strategy which best meets their commercial objectives.
Clients tell me they appreciate my rigour and candour in getting the job done, whilst never losing sight of the overall commercial aims, which might be more than the task at hand.
